One Long Amazing Cup of Coffee...
As simply amazing as this sounds, (WE) SeldomRest started as a cup of coffee at our local breakfast diner one morning in May, 1984!! As we were eating breakfast and joking our way to work my friend ask me a question, "Jackson what do you really think about this Net thing everyone is talking about?". Do you think we could make a buck off of it or just maybe learn some 'PUTER' stuff?
Well, let me assure you the 'boys' got their hoot's and holler's in and we settled down to answer his question without all the jokes included. Man the 'crowd' enjoyed our chuckles, a bunch!! A couple even tried to pay our Tab for us !LOL! I had spent a little time surfing around and some of the others had ordered supplies off of it but none of us really had a real clue about E-Commerce and just how big the 'playing' field really was or how fast it could explode with the 'Information' age of today.
But what it did was start a conversation among friends that has lasted a lo-o-ong time!! Boy, 28 years to be exact, and we have no plans to go away any time soon! I have already started easing my son into the group and he see's even more promise among friends of his own. Over these last 28 years some of our folks has gone on to bigger fields and goals but the basic group has grown 10 fold since the beginning in May 1984!!! We even have friends in high places! (Your Honor, LOL!) And one famous Senator (No Names Here!) who actually used us to assist in his local election advertisements and cookout events! (BBQ!)
Someone would leave and someone would invite a friend of theirs to help out and soon we would have another charged-up member excited about learning and earning all over again and how he was going to show everyone just how 'Smart' he really was !!( Oh, Really !) Site-Build-It has been and continues to be a 'PERFECT' asset to our total dreams started so very long ago!!
Little did they know we all started the same way. I came up with the name and domain of Seldom-Rest because it seemed as if every minute we had off we were discussing a new program or techniques we had discovered online just last night!
We as members used this passion as a way to stay up-to-date with our world and friends. After a while we realized that there was 'no silver bullet' but that a lot of programs and scripts would save a bunch of time ( and give us a bunch of time to be with friends and our families ) so we developed our Re-Sell Rights projects and have not looked back one time!!
Now understand ONE thing up front, NONE of us have made a million dollars Over-Nite! Tho it seemed as if we just might 'spend' that much at times developing our programs!!( LOL !)
At this time we can lay claim to having assisted in building over 2926 websites for local businesses and personal websites for countless friends and relatives. And along this time ('84) we ALL got our first 'cell' phones so we could keep in contact and pass along information to each other a lot quicker!
Our members would impress just about anyone,(except maybe for Obama!) lawyers, salesmen, buyers, traders, programmers, judges, and yes two or three politicians from time to time!! We even had tech help from IE for a number of years with beta testing and all! But to survive and buy us a cup of coffee and a steak we have relied on our Sales to keep us growing and learning more each day. After all, isn't a vacation for 35 people to the beach or mountains a 'legal' business expense? Our accountants think so, since we hold meetings and projects beside the pools and restaurants!! And we are 'experts' at keeping our expense records up-to-date ! (Right, accountants? LOL!)
We test everything completely and gaurantee it to do exactly what it promises to do, whether it is a new program or just and info e-book about html design! ( Whew--I needed that a LOT! )
I can really see a future for the little man or lady online and that keeps us digging deeper and deeper into what is the biggest part of the Net world, which is INFORMATION ! Without it we would all still be sitting around a campfire waiting for the sun to come up in our worlds to go out and hunt rabbits with bows and rocks and roast supper over the fire at night! Sounds like a cook-out, right ?
As our group grows we have expanded in a lot of different areas and with the advice and help from our members we have formed SeldomRest Ebooks & Software which is as diverse as our members allow us to be. But with all that said we still enjoy the fact of being able to get-together at the beach or hunting lodge of our choice and enjoy life to its fullest with our family standing by our sides!! And the satisfaction of knowing that almost since the beginning it has not cost ANY of us One-Red-Cent, ( except Bob who lost his wallet in New Orleans once, another story! LOL !) and we still spend time with our friends of common interest and grow daily in ways no-one could have imagined way back in May, 1984!!
And yes, we have fallen for the con-gurus and so called experts from time to time like anyone else but with this we learned a valuable lesson. That is one reason we will answer any question, ANY TIME, that you may have concerning our group, our programs, or our goals in life!!
MAN that has been one lo-o-o-ong cup of coffee, don't you agree? We still prefer 'old' Maxwell House to the new HOTTIE brands today!!(LOL!)
Dog-gone-it, time to get another cup! It is really a no-brainer and yes is so simple a 'Florida BOY' can make money with our Ebooks & Software systems!!
